Camilla Simpson, BSc, MSc

Camilla Simpson is an experienced biotechnology executive, board director, and strategic advisor with more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning corporate strategy, drug development, regulatory affairs, portfolio management, governance, and business development. She is recognized for helping boards and leadership teams navigate corporate strategy, portfolio prioritization, regulatory risk, business development, and organizational growth across public and private biotechnology companies.
Ms. Simpson serves as Managing Member and President of Rare Strategic, where she advises biotechnology companies on corporate strategy, regulatory strategy, and product development. Previously, she served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Zehna Therapeutics, an early-stage biotechnology company spun out from the Cleveland Clinic, where she led the company through a critical stage of growth and advanced its novel therapeutic program. Earlier, she held several executive leadership positions at BioMarin Pharmaceutical, including Senior Vice President, Head of Product Portfolio Development, where she was responsible for corporate and R&D governance, portfolio strategy, program leadership, project management, competitive intelligence, and business analytics. She also served as Group Vice President, Global Regulatory Affairs, following 12 years at Shire, where she ultimately held the position of Vice President, Regulatory Affairs Early Development and Business Development.
Ms. Simpson currently serves on the Boards of Directors of GRI Biosciences (NASDAQ: GRI) and Spruce Biosciences (NASDAQ: SPRB) She holds a B.Sc. from University College Galway, Ireland, a B.Sc. (Hons.) from Kingston University, UK, and an M.Sc. with Distinction from the University of London.
